Trump also stated that he wants to help Ukraine.
One of the tasks he and President Zelenskyy are working on, according to him, is ensuring the security of Ukraine’s rare earths.
He also mentioned that Europe allocates significantly less money to aid Ukraine than the US, emphasizing the need to balance this issue.
Zelenskyy’s last meeting with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump last met on December 7 in Paris during the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral. French President Emmanuel Macron also attended the meeting.
According to Reuters, during the talks, Zelenskyy explained to Trump the need for security guarantees, as it is not enough just to cease fire.
The outlet, citing its sources, also reported that Zelenskyy explained to Trump that Putin in 2024 is no longer the same as he was in 2017.
Notably, a few days ago, the head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, held talks with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. They discussed arranging a meeting between President Zelenskyy and President Trump in the near future.
