Vladimir Putin's visit to Alaska, scheduled for August 15, was made possible by the decisive actions of US President Donald Trump. We are talking about the sale of weapons to Europe for Ukraine, as well as the introduction of new tariffs for India, according to US Senator Lindsey Graham.

"I can't think of a better person on the planet to put in the room with Putin other than Trump. But the reason Putin is in Alaska is because President Trump announced he was going to sell weapons to Europe to help Ukraine, and that rattled Putin," Graham says.

According to him, the US President also imposed higher tariffs on India for buying Russian oil.

"He went after the second-largest purchaser of Russian oil that keeps the war machine going. That's why Putin is going to Alaska. Peace through strength," the senator adds.

Trump and Putin meeting in Alaska

US President Donald Trump recently announced that he will meet with Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.

Trump also announced the possibility of a trade of territories between Ukraine and Russia, including the return of some lands.

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that the territorial issue is enshrined in the Constitution and that Ukraine will not give up its lands to the Russians. The Ukrainian President also stressed that Russia is promoting the idea of such an exchange without any guarantees.

In turn, after meeting with his European colleagues, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepful stated that the EU is acting jointly and is preparing to influence the decisions of Washington and Moscow regarding Ukraine.
