The United States has threatened Ukraine with a halt to weapons supplies and intelligence sharing in order to force Kyiv to sign a peace agreement by November 27, according to Reuters.

Two informed sources told the outlet that Washington is exerting more pressure on Kyiv than during any previous round of peace talks. According to them, the United States wants the agreement signed by next Thursday, November 27.

"They want to stop the war and want Ukraine to pay the price," one of the sources said.

What is known about the US peace plan

The US peace plan — developed by President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, with support from Russia’s special representative Kirill Dmitriev — consists of 28 points.

The document envisions transferring parts of the Donbas territories to Russia in exchange for long-term security guarantees for Ukraine and the EU, reducing Ukraine’s Armed Forces, abandoning long-range weapons, and more.

Notably, during US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll’s visit to Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reviewed the proposals and agreed to discuss them. The White House has not disclosed details but says President Donald Trump supports the plan.

Today, November 21, Sky News sources reported that Zelenskyy and Trump will hold a phone call next week to discuss the plan.

At the same time, European leaders have already said that the US peace plan amounts to a "capitulation of Ukraine," as it includes no real concessions from Russia. In response, European leaders are preparing their own version of a peace plan.

More about the US peace plan, its details, and the "aggressive timetable" can be found in a separate RBC-Ukraine report.
