Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have registered criminal proceedings in connection with the death of servicemen of the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as civilians in a Russian missile attack on a village in the Zaporizhzhia region, the SBI reports.

Thus, an official investigation was initiated into the actions of military officials who organized an event for the Day of "Rocket Troops and Artillery" near the front line.

"Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligent attitude of a military official to service)," the Bureau said.

Procedural management is carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region.

What is known about enemy shelling

As the Bureau informed, on November 3, as a result of a Russian Iskander-type missile attack on a village in Zaporizhzhia, servicemen of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade and civilians were killed and wounded.

In addition, the blast wave and debris damaged about 30 houses and farm buildings located near the impact site.

Currently, employees of the SBI are conducting investigative activities, establishing the details of the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

"The staff of the Bureau expresses its deep condolences to the relatives and relatives of all those killed and injured during these tragic events. Investigating the circumstances of the case and bringing those involved to justice is currently one of the priority tasks of the SBI," the message reads.

Last Friday, November 3, the Russian army attacked the personnel of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Zakarpattia Brigade in the Zaporizhzhia region. At that moment, the award ceremony for Artillery Day, November 3, was taking place.

Later, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov and the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the Iskander-M missile attack on the military gathering. As a result of the shelling, servicemen were killed and about 30 people, including civilians, were injured.

Today, the brigade reported that as a result of an enemy attack on the personnel of the 128th brigade in the Zaporizhzhia region, 19 soldiers were killed.

Also, an investigation into the tragedy had been launched, and a three-day mourning period was announced in the Zakarpattia region.
