Ukrainian President invited to NATO, EU, and G7 summits, FM says

In addition to the NATO summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also received invitations to the G7 and European Union meetings, according to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.
Invitation to NATO summit
As Tykhyi notes, the Ukrainian President received an invitation to the NATO summit. The decision is important, but Kyiv also needs strong decisions from this meeting.
"For us, as a state, the content of this meeting is important, and it is important for us that the outcome of this summit sends a signal of strength and unity, including about Ukraine. Work is currently underway to reach these final decisions, which will be made at the NATO summit in The Hague. And I think that Ukraine's participation, including the level of Ukraine's participation, will depend on this," he explained.
G7 and EU summits
In addition to the NATO summit, according to the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Zelenskyy has received an invitation to the G7 meeting. Preparations for the meeting and formats are ongoing, but the final decision on participation will be announced closer to the dates of the events.
"Because, as you understand, many factors are at play, and it's not just about meetings and decisions, it's also about the security situation. After all, our country is in a full-scale war. But I can confirm that invitations to both events have been received and preparations for participation are underway. That is a fact," he explains.
In particular, Zelenskyy received an invitation to the EU summit.
“Bilateral meetings are always held on the sidelines of such events. These three cases are no exception. I am convinced that there will be bilateral meetings on the sidelines of these events. Which ones? We are currently working on this. We will provide more information when there is more clarity,” Tykhyi adds.
Zelenskyy's participation in NATO summit
On June 3, President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had been invited to the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague. At the same time, the media reported that the United States of America was opposed to such an invitation.
As noted by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine expects its partners to make strong decisions in support of Kyiv. In that case, Zelenskyy's visit will be possible.
