The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck a strategic oil pumping station near the Russian city of Perm, more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine.
"Last night, specialists from the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center carried out an operation against the Perm Linear Production and Dispatching Station (LPD), located more than 1,500 kilometers from the border with Ukraine," the SBU reports.
This station belongs to Transneft JSC and is a strategically important hub of Russia's main oil transportation system. Oil is distributed in four directions through the station, including to the Perm Oil Refinery.
A massive fire broke out at the oil pumping station as a result of the SBU’s drone attack. According to preliminary information, nearly all oil storage tanks are on fire.
"The SBU is systematically reducing Russia's export potential and undermining its economic foundation, which finances the war against Ukraine. Striking oil logistics creates a shortage of resources and disrupts fuel supply chains for the army," notes acting head of the SBU Yevhen Khmara.

Strikes on Russia's oil infrastructure
On the morning of April 29, drones attacked two Russian cities simultaneously, Orsk and Perm.
An oil refinery and a facility belonging to an oil pipeline company were targeted. Orsk is located more than 1,400 km from the border with Ukraine.
Ukrainian drones also struck the oil terminal in Tuapse, in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, for the third time in two weeks, on April 16, 20, and 28.
A massive fire engulfed new storage tanks, and local authorities were forced to order an evacuation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded for the first time to Ukraine's series of strikes on the oil refinery in Tuapse. He called them terrorist attacks, but there does not appear to be a major threat.
