On the night of April 5–6, special forces from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) destroyed the Slavyanin ferry with drones. It was Russia’s last railway ferry in the Kerch Strait, used to supply the occupying forces in Crimea.

The ferry was part of the so-called Kerch crossing. It was used to transport the fuel, lubricants, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment to the temporarily occupied Crimea.

How operation unfolded
The strike was carried out on the night of April 5–6, 2026. Specialists from the Department of Active Operations of HUR disabled the vessel with drone strikes.
This is not the first strike against the Slavyanin; in March, it sustained damage during another operation but remained afloat at the time. Now, however, the ferry has been completely disabled.
At the same time, Ukrainian reconnaissance units struck infrastructure at the Kavkaz port in the Krasnodar Krai, a facility Russia uses to supply its troops.
Russian Adygea was also hit. Drones struck the airfield’s infrastructure.
In March, Ukraine surpassed Russia for the first time in the number of drone attacks. However, the number of Russian attacks is also increasing every month.
