Explosions were heard on the outskirts of Chernihiv during the night of May 25. The military reported a missile threat, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, and the Ukrainian Air Force.

Around 2 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukraine's Air Force alerted residents about a high-speed aerial target detected in the northern part of the Chernihiv region.

Just a few minutes later, the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration reported that explosions were heard on the outskirts of the city.

"Explosions have been recorded on the outskirts of the city. Air defense is active," he emphasized.

Residents report that repeated explosions were heard in Chernihiv. Just a few minutes earlier, the Air Forces had reported detecting a missile heading toward the city.

Attack on Ukraine

During the night of May 25, Russian forces launched missile strikes from strategic bombers towards Ukraine. Simultaneously, the country was attacked by drones.

On the evening of May 24, launches of kamikaze drones by Russian forces were recorded. The enemy UAVs entered Ukrainian airspace from both northern and southern directions. Reports indicated that air defense systems were active in the Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Additionally, amid the drone attack, explosions were heard in Odesa, where air defense systems were also reported to be operating.

A series of explosions also occurred in Kyiv due to a massive strike by enemy drones. In the capital, a residential five-story building in the Holosiivskyi district was damaged as a result of the shelling, causing a fire.

Furthermore, a series of explosions was reported in Mykolaiv due to another drone attack overnight. Explosions were also heard in Kharkiv following a drone strike, which resulted in a fire in the city.
