Drone attack rocks Ukrainian Mykolaiv, explosions reported

Last night in Mykolaiv, a series of explosions were heard as Russian kamikaze drones were detected moving toward the city. There are reports of medical assistance being called due to the enemy air attack, according to the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, and local Mykolaiv media.
The Air Forces reported enemy strike drones moving toward Mykolaiv. Additionally, military units detected hostile drones over the city.
The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, stated in his Telegram at 00:45 Kyiv time that the threat from kamikaze drones to the city is ongoing.
Around that time, the Mykolaiv community pages reported hearing several explosions in the city area. There were multiple blasts. Reports also mentioned the work of air defense systems.
Meanwhile, Regional Military Administration chief Kim urged people not to count explosions online. He especially addressed those who can’t tell the difference between departures and arrivals.
Later, the Regional Military Administration head said medical assistance was called to the strike site.
“There are calls for ambulances. Services are working,” the official wrote.
Update: Consequences of the enemy attack clarified
Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych later reported that due to the Russian attack using strike drones, damage was recorded in the residential sector of the city.
"We’re working and assessing the consequences. More information will follow," the mayor added.
Update: Casualties reported in the city
Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, later clarified that two people are known to have been injured following the enemy air attack on Mykolaiv.
"They have been hospitalized," the official added.
Night air attack
As reported earlier, on the evening of Saturday, May 24, Russian forces launched kamikaze drones toward Ukraine. The enemy’s strike UAVs entered the airspace from the north and south directions. Air defense systems were reported to be active in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Additionally, amid the drone attack, explosions were heard in Odesa, and air defense systems were activated in the city.
There was also a series of explosions in Kyiv due to a massive attack by enemy strike UAVs. As a result of the shelling, a five-story residential building in the Holosiivskyi district was damaged, and a fire broke out.
