Shahed drones hit Kyiv at night: Officials detail damage

In Kyiv tonight, debris from aerial targets has been recorded falling amid an enemy drone attack. A residential building was damaged in the Holosiivskyi district, reports the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.
“In the Holosiivskyi district, debris fell onto a five-story residential building,” the official said.
He added that information about possible casualties is currently being verified.
Updated: Fire reported
Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the site where debris fell on a residential building showed signs of partial destruction and a fire.
He added that rescue teams were already working at the scene.
The Kyiv City Military Administration also reported that in the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out in a private housing sector as a result of debris from a downed UAV.
Updated: Casualties reported
Around 2 a.m. Kyiv time, Mayor Vitalii Klitschko stated that medics had provided assistance to four people injured in a student dormitory in the Holosiivskyi district.
"A fragment of a UAV struck the building. The exterior of one of the walls caught fire," he reported.
Meanwhile, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tkachенко, clarified that in the Dniprovskyi district, a private house was damaged — without fire.
"Medics are currently examining one injured woman. Another victim received on-site medical assistance in the Desnianskyi district of the capital," the official said.
Later, updated information from the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that a young woman was injured in the Dniprovskyi district as a result of the attack.
"Preliminarily — a leg fracture. Medics are providing assistance," the administration stated.
According to Mayor Klitschko, as of 2:24 a.m. Kyiv time, seven people were injured in Kyiv due to the enemy air attack.
"Another injured person sought medical help in the Desnianskyi district. She was hospitalized. Currently, seven people have been injured in the capital. Six of them received medical aid on the spot," he said.
Mayor Klitschko also mentioned that medics were dispatched to the Shevchenkivskyi district, adding, the crew is on its way to the scene.
Update: Number of injured rises to 10
Around 3 a.m. Kyiv time, Mayor Klitschko reported that as of that time, ten people were known to be injured in the capital.
"Two of them were hospitalized by medics. Six received assistance on the spot. And two more are currently being examined in the Shevchenkivskyi district," the mayor stated.
Air attack on Kyiv
An air raid alert was announced in the capital last night amid threats of ballistic missile strikes and enemy kamikaze drone attacks. The Kyiv City Military Administration also reported that the city is under yet another attack.
The Ukrainian Air Forces informed about enemy UAV movements toward Kyiv and warned of possible air defense activity. Several explosions were heard in the city.
The Kyiv City Military Administration stated that more than ten enemy drones have been detected in the airspace around Kyiv, with new ones continuing to approach. They also predicted a difficult night for the capital.
Combined strike last night
On the night of May 24, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using hundreds of kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles. The main blow was aimed at the Ukrainian capital.
In total, the Russian forces fired 14 ballistic missiles and 250 drones at Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces intercepted 6 ballistic missiles and neutralized 245 enemy UAVs.
