An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv late in the evening on May 24 due to the threat of enemy strikes involving ballistic missiles, reports the Kyiv City Military Administration.

"An air raid alert has been declared in Kyiv due to the threat of the enemy using ballistic weapons," the administration's announcement stated.

At the same time, the Kyiv City Military Administration updated the information at 11:50 p.m. Kyiv time, reporting a threat of enemy drones.

“We ask all residents of the capital to immediately proceed to the nearest shelters and remain there until the alert is over,” the administration stated.

At 11:49 p.m., the Air Force reported a threat of the Russian forces using ballistic missiles from the northeast.

Later, the military reported the detection of a high-speed target in the Sumy region.

Meanwhile, the city authorities confirmed another air attack on Kyiv by the enemy.

“The enemy is attacking the capital again. Stay in shelters until the all-clear!” said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, in a statement on Telegram.

Last night’s drone and missile attack on Kyiv, described by local authorities as one of the largest in recent times, involved Russian forces targeting the Ukrainian capital with hundreds of strike UAVs and launching 9 ballistic missiles.
