Ukrainian army moves military training centers inland due to drone and missile danger

Considering the drone and missile threat, work is underway in Ukraine to strengthen the security of training centers, said Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"I held the regular monthly meeting on the training of our soldiers, as well as on certain aspects of the functioning of the training centers," said Syrskyi.
According to him, significant organizational work has been carried out over the past year to ensure that recruits have enough time to acquire the necessary skills. In particular, the basic combined arms training now lasts 51 days and includes an anti-drone warfare course, as well as other elements that meet the requirements of modern technological warfare.
"At the same time, considering the drone and missile threat, work is underway to strengthen the security of the training centers. They are increasingly being moved deeper into the country, as far away from the front line as possible. In this regard, there is a task to ensure high training standards even at remote locations," he said.
In particular, there was a constructive discussion on the quality control of training in the centers and the optimization of their organizational structure.
"The problematic issues have been addressed, and ways for their prompt resolution have been determined. I set specific tasks, including preparations for the training centers to function during the winter period. It is important to realize the potential of the training centers fully," he emphasized.
Russian strikes on training grounds and centers
In recent months, the number of cases where the Russian army has attacked Ukrainian training grounds or training centers has increased.
In particular, back in May, Russia struck a shooting range in the Sumy region.
In June, Russian forces attacked the 239th training ground in the Dnipropetrovsk region and, a few days later, another training ground in the Poltava region.
The most recent confirmed incident occurred on September 24, when the Russian army struck the territory of one of the training units of the Ukrainian Ground Forces with two Iskander ballistic missiles.
