Ukrainian Armed Forces report losses of Russian Black Sea Fleet for month
In March, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed one and damaged four ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, according to the Armed Forces of the South.
The patrol ship Sergey Kotov sank.
Damaged:
- Large landing ship Kostyantyn Olshansky,
- Reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs,
- Large landing ship Yamal,
- Large landing ship Azov.
On the night of March 4-5, 2024, a special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Group 13 attacked the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Sergey Kotov near the Kerch Strait. As a result of the attack by the Magura V5 maritime drones, the ship sustained damage to its stern, right, and left sides.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, 27 crew members of the destroyed Russian ship Sergey Kotov were injured to varying degrees of severity. Preliminary data indicates that seven Russian sailors were killed.
The reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs was struck on March 23. On the same day, strikes were carried out against the large landing ships Yamal and Azov and the communication center.
The large landing ship Kostyantyn Olshansky was attacked on March 24 by the Neptune missile system. The ship was seized by the occupiers in 2014 in Crimea and was supposed to be used for strikes against our territory.
