Ukraine scales up mass production of Neptune missiles - Ukrainian Defense Minister
Ukraine has successfully scaled up mass production of Neptune missiles, and they have also been improved, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
He noted that he held a meeting with Ukrainian missile manufacturers to discuss plans for 2025, key directions, and the development of the industry.
Umerov reminded that in 2022, the Ukrainian Neptune missile destroyed the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Moscow cruiser, marking a historic moment.
According to him, the production of Ukrainian missiles is now increasing. This year, the first 100 missiles were produced.
"Mass production of the R-360 Neptune cruise missiles has been successfully scaled, with improvements made for hitting targets at greater distances," the Minister said.
He added that the development of drone missiles is ongoing, including the Palianytsia, which is a successful example of cooperation between the state and the private sector. Work in this area is also being done with foreign partners.
Missile production in Ukraine
At the beginning of November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine had surpassed the mark of 100 domestically produced missiles.
The President also highlighted that Ukraine has developed four new types of missiles, which are currently undergoing testing.
