Ukraine is increasing its own arms production. This year, the country crossed the 100-missile mark, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“The first is our special production, our strategic industries, our weapons. I heard a report from Oleksandr Kamyshin. This year we were able to achieve significant results in several areas,” the president said.

Zelenskyy clarified that we are talking about Ukrainian artillery - in particular, shells and guns. It also includes drones of various types and for various tasks, which not only help the frontline defend positions and destroy the enemy but also strike at Russian territory at greater depths.

“We will increase this. We have crossed the mark of the first hundred missile weapons this year. There are no details here, but I want to thank each and every person involved in this production, who organizes the relevant processes. We will continue to develop this area,” the President summarized.

Ukrainian arms production

In August, during an Independence Day event, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had used a new drone missile called Palianytsia for the first time. The President specified that this was a Ukrainian-made weapon.

In early October, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had created a new ballistic missile and that it had already passed flight tests.

“Our new ballistic missile has successfully passed flight tests. The successful use of Neptune missiles continues, and up to 20 Bogdan artillery systems are being produced every month,” the president said at the time.

In November of this year, Oleksiy Petrov, director of the state enterprise Spetstechnoexport, said that by 2025 Ukraine would have its own cruise and ballistic missiles.
