Ukraine makes Palianytsia missile
On Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the first successful use of Ukraine's Palianytsia drone missile.
He said that the development of domestic missiles was Ukraine's way of acting while some partners were dragging their feet. The president also announced other "robust decisions" on weapons, adding that there would be other long-range missiles.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov arrested in France
In Paris, the founder and CEO of the encrypted messaging service Telegram, Pavel Durov, has been arrested.
Durov was arrested around 8:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. Kyiv time) on Saturday evening when he disembarked from his private jet onto the runway at Le Bourget Airport.
The reason for the arrest was that Durov was registered in the FPR (Fichier des Personnes Recherchées – a database of wanted persons).
Oil depot attacked by Ukrainian army burns for 8th day in Rostov region, Russia
An oil depot has been burning for eight days in the Rostov region. The fire started after an attack by the Ukrainian army.
Satellite imagery shows that on the eighth day of the fire, there was still no visible improvement in the situation at the oil depot in Rostov region.

House explosion in Poznań leaves many injured, others missing
A powerful fire and explosion occurred in the Polish city of Poznań around midnight on August 25. The incident has resulted in many injuries and missing persons.
According to reports, the fire initially broke out in the basement of the building. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after.
During the rescue operation, an explosion occurred inside the building. Polish rescuers suspect that there might have been two explosions. The blast was so powerful that it threw back the firefighters who were first to enter the building, and it also damaged the fire trucks.
