Russia has once again falsely claimed advances in Ukraine's Sumy region. The settlement of Myropillia remains under Ukrainian Armed Forces control, according to the Kursk Group of Forces.
"Once again, we are refuting Russian fantasies. This time, the enemy Ministry of Defense claimed to have captured the village of Myropillia in the Sumy region. We officially state that this is an outright lie," the statement said.
The military added that its units are controlling the area and that there has been no enemy advance or assault there over the past several days.
"We are once again witnessing information convulsions ahead of another 'sacred date.' May 9, the main fetish of Russian military mythology, approaches. Tellingly, their so-called 'special military operation' is already lasting longer than the war they commemorate as a victory. But medals and orders are still needed every year, so settlements are 'captured' at least in official reports," the Kursk Group of Forces added.
Sumy region situation
Yesterday, the 71st Separate Airmobile Brigade of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that Russian troops in the Sumy region once again attempted to storm Ukrainian positions through a gas pipeline. However, the attempt failed.
In mid-April, we also reported that Russian forces had intensified pressure on the Sumy region border areas for 10 days, attempting to seize villages near the border, particularly near the villages of Hrabovske and Myropilske.
