According to the spokesperson, active pressure is being observed in the area of the villages of Hrabovske and Myropilske in the Sumy region.
"In general, along the border, over the past ten days, the Russians have been quite actively trying to seize settlements right on the border," Trehubov said.
He added that the enemy is currently attempting to advance about 500 meters into Ukrainian territory, while residents of the border areas were evacuated further inland after, in December, more than 50 people were abducted from Hrabovske by the occupying forces.
Regarding the situation in the Kharkiv region, the spokesperson noted that there are no significant changes.
"The same enclaves, the same salients. That small area of Dehtiarske, two separate zones in the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, one of which is Vovchansk — so there is nothing new here," the spokesperson of the grouping clarified.
Situation in the Sumy direction
Earlier this week, Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported increased Russian pressure on the Sumy direction.
According to him, the enemy is attempting to expand zones of control in border areas, advancing over short distances of approximately 1–1.5 km from the state border.
It was also reported that in the Sumy region, airborne troops destroyed a group of Russian soldiers who attempted to infiltrate the defenders’ rear via a gas pipeline.
What is known about Hrabovske
Recall that in December 2025, Russian troops abducted 50 civilians from the small border village of Hrabovske in the Sumy region.
Before being taken to Russia, the people were gathered in a church building. Most of them were elderly residents who had previously refused evacuation.
The incident was commented on by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, as well as Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
The latter stated that "such medieval raids once again prove that Putin’s Russia is no different from terrorist groups."
