Russian forces have increased pressure in the Sumy direction. They are trying to expand control zones in border areas, said Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Trehubov, Russian forces have noticeably intensified in the Sumy region.

"At least in our area, in Hrabovske and to the north of it. There is another penetration zone there," he said.

The spokesman clarified that this concerns a limited advancement — approximately 1–1.5 km from the state border.

He emphasized that even such minor advances remain dangerous, as they indicate the intention of Russian forces to establish a foothold and gradually expand their presence in border areas.

"These are small distances — 1–1.5 km from the border, but still unpleasant," Trehubov added.

Violation of the Easter ceasefire

Earlier, Russian forces used the so-called Easter ceasefire to regroup forces and transfer equipment to the front.

As spokesman Viktor Trehubov noted, overall combat activity remained at a usual level, in particular in the Lyman, Kharkiv, and partly Sumy directions.

At the same time, on the night of Easter, Russian forces attacked a medical vehicle in the Hlukhiv community.

In addition, during the ceasefire, Russian forces struck an evacuation group in Zaporizhzhia. The attack occurred at about 17:30, although the ceasefire was supposed to begin at 16:00.
