Kyiv engulfed in fires and smoke after Russian attack: What city looks like

Kyiv is recovering from yet another nighttime Russian attack on the city. Fires are burning in the capital, and damage has been reported at 16 locations, according to the Kyiv Police, the Kyiv City Military Administration, the prosecutorєs office, and RBC-Ukraine correspondents.
How many people were injured
As of 8 a.m., 2 people are known to have been killed, and at least 10 have been injured. Both of the deceased were residents of the Solomianskyi district, where a Russian rocket or piece of debris struck a residential building and caused a fire.
The highest number of casualties was recorded in the Solomianskyi district. "Damage and falling debris were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Solomianskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts," the Kyiv police report.
The police state that the 8 victims in the Solomianskyi district were people aged 22 to 65. They sustained lacerations and shrapnel wounds, as well as injuries to the face, neck, torso, and limbs.

In the Holosiivskyi district, a 62-year-old man sought help due to an acute stress reaction. In the Darnytskyi district, a 29-year-old foreign national was injured.
Which districts of Kyiv were attacked
The consequences of the Russian attack have been reported in 7 districts of the capital:
- Holosiivskyi
- Darnytskyi
- Dniprovskyi
- Obolonskyi
- Podilskyi
- Solomianskyi
- Shevchenkivskyi
What was damaged
According to preliminary data, at least 14 high-rise buildings, a dormitory, a school, a clinic, a supermarket, a gas station, warehouses, and an administrative building were damaged in Kyiv. 25 cars were also damaged.

In the Holosiivskyi district, debris damaged a residential building and an educational institution, and also caused fires in garages and warehouses. In the Darnytskyi district, warehouses caught fire, and debris fell onto the grounds of a private home.

In the Solomianskyi district, the fire engulfed a warehouse and several residential buildings. In the Podilskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, warehouses also caught fire; in the Shevchenkivskyi district, residential buildings were additionally damaged.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into a war crime that resulted in fatalities. The case was opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Rescue workers and law enforcement officers are on the scene where the strikes occurred, and debris fell. Investigative and operational teams, bomb disposal experts, and other emergency services have been deployed.
New fires have broken out in the Kyiv region: drones destroyed seven trucks and struck a logistics complex twice in the Boryspil and Fastiv districts.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has destroyed or damaged nearly 2,700 medical facilities in Ukraine, some of which have already been restored.
Russians continue to target civilian infrastructure, in particular regularly attacking the warehouses of major Ukrainian retailers.
