Russian forces once again attempted to assault Ukrainian positions through a gas pipeline in the Sumy region, but the attempt failed, according to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 71st Separate Airmobile Brigade.
Six Russian soldiers tried to use a gas pipeline to get closer to the positions of Ukrainian fighters. However, they were detected and destroyed in the field even before reaching them.
The first was eliminated by an FPV drone. The rest of the group was hit by artillery in open terrain as they attempted to disperse.
Those who survived the strikes tried to hide among the trees, but were neutralized by strike assets, including the well-known Vampire drone.

As a result, the enemy assault was completely thwarted, and the entire group of Russian troops was destroyed.
The Air Assault Forces also said that on May 1, Russian forces once again announced the capture of the settlement of Korchakivka in the Sumy region and the grinding down of Ukrainian defenses.
"So here is an example of how such statements end in real life," Ukrainian fighters said in a post under the video.
Russians use gas pipelines for assaults
Russian forces began crawling through empty gas pipelines to reach Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region last year.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are countering this tactic by blowing up or flooding the pipelines.
There are several pipelines in the Kupiansk area. Three out of four lines have already been damaged and flooded, while the exit from the fourth is under the control of the Defense Forces.
In addition, Russian units recently attempted a breakthrough in the Kursk direction, choosing a gas pipeline as their route.
This method, which the enemy has used before, was supplemented by a maneuver using light vehicles. Despite relying on surprise and speed, the movement of the groups was detected in time by reconnaissance assets.
Also, Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn said that Russians are practicing movement through gas pipelines in temporarily occupied territories. They intend to advance in this way in the Orikhiv direction.
