US President Donald Trump said he had instructed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt strikes on Iran’s oil and gas facilities, CNN reports.
"I told him, don’t do that. And he won’t do that," Trump said.
Earlier, the US President said Washington didn't know about Israel’s strike on Iranian facilities at the South Pars gas field. However, CNN, citing an Israeli source familiar with the operation, reported that Israel carried out the strike in coordination with the United States. A US source also told the outlet that Washington had been informed about the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces plan to continue their military campaign against Iran for at least three more weeks. For now, "thousands" of targets remain.
The IDF stressed that Israel is not working according to the schedule, but rather to achieve its goals, including significantly weakening the Iranian regime.
It is worth noting that US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said Washington and Tel Aviv are pursuing different objectives in the war against Iran. She noted that Israel is focused on neutralizing Iran’s leadership, while Washington is targeting military infrastructure.
In addition, Trump recently said that the United States had effectively won the war against Iran, and that the fighting was over "in the first hour" after devastating strikes. According to him, the only remaining question is when the operation will be officially concluded.
Later, the US leader clarified that despite Tehran’s defeat, he is not ready to declare victory. Trump stressed that Iran may need years to recover, so there is currently no reason to ease pressure.
Trump also said that the United States is not yet ready to fully withdraw from the operation in Iran. However, he expects this to happen in the near future.
