Israel plans to continue its military campaign against Iran for at least three more weeks, with "thousands" of targets still remaining, according to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Effie Defrin, cited by CNN.

"We have thousands of targets ahead. We are ready, in coordination with our US allies, with plans through at least the Jewish holiday of Passover, about three weeks from now. And we have deeper plans for even three weeks beyond that," General Defrin said.

She added that Israel is "not working according to a stopwatch, or a timetable, but rather to achieve its goals," which are to "weaken the Iranian regime severely."

The IDF reports that, since the start of the military campaign on February 28, Israeli air forces have conducted roughly 400 strikes across western and central Iran, focusing on destroying infrastructure and targeting personnel in combat, defense, and production units.

Israeli officials also say that thousands of targets have already been hit owing to joint efforts with the US since the start of the conflict.

The IDF spokesperson noted that the large-scale Israel-US operation against Iran has pushed Lebanon's Hezbollah to participate in the conflict, unlike their decision to remain on the sidelines during the 12-day war in summer 2025.

CNN added that, according to Iranian officials, Israeli military operations in Lebanon may continue even after the Iran campaign ends. Israel is currently deploying additional troops to its northern border to capture territory and push back against Hezbollah.

Trump not ready for peace with Iran yet

Despite his statements about victory over Iran, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized that the win is not yet complete.

According to WSJ sources, he insists on continuing strikes, and US military officials say that combat operations are unlikely to end in the coming weeks.

Earlier today, Trump publicly stated that he is not yet ready to negotiate a ceasefire with Iran, as the conditions are still insufficient.
