US President Donald Trump currently has no plans to end the war against Iran. Instead, he is insisting on new strikes, reports The Wall Street Journal.

"Some of Trump’s outside advisers are urging him to find an exit ramp, but the president has no plans to immediately end the war, aides and officials said, instead pushing to continue strikes on Iran’s military and proxy forces," the WSJ writes.

Also, US military representatives stated that the conflict will most likely continue for at least a few more weeks.

The same material states that before the start of the war, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, repeatedly told President Trump that a US attack could prompt Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump, for his part, acknowledged the risk but still decided to proceed with the operation. He told his team that Tehran would most likely capitulate before closing the strait, and even if Iran tried to do so, US troops would handle it.

As a result, two weeks after the start of the war, Iranian leaders refused to back down, and the Strait of Hormuz became Tehran's trendiest lever of pressure.

US has won, but not completely

Recently, US President Donald Trump stated that the US has effectively won the war against Iran. According to him, this supposedly happened within the first hour of the operation. He emphasized that the question now is when exactly the hostilities will conclude.

According to media posts, Trump is being urged to end the war against Iran. However, the attacks are still ongoing. Thus, tonight, he reported that the US had carried out one of the most powerful bombings in the history of the Middle East. Specifically, all military targets on Kharg Island were destroyed.
