Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 15: +1,400 troops and 1,839 drones

Ukraine's Armed Forces continue to inflict significant losses on Russian forces as the war enters another day of intense fighting. The latest figures show Russia's daily losses in manpower, as well as tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, aircraft, drones, and other military equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 15, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel ‒ nearly 1,510,000 (+1,400)
- Tanks ‒ 12,345
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,334 (+3)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,690 (+7)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 149,183 (+376)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,626 (+11)
- Artillery systems ‒ 49,793 (+41)
- MLRS ‒ 2,131 (+4)
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,638 (+1)
- Aircraft ‒ 442
- Helicopters ‒ 356

Frontline situation
Russia is experimenting with the use of FPV drones with Shahed attack UAVs, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. But it is uncertain how widely the Russians will use such a scheme and how effective it will prove to be.
Poland is preparing for a possible escalation of Russian actions amid attacks near the Ukrainian-Polish border. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that what is happening indicates that the escalation is entering a new phase and called for possible further scenarios to be taken into account.
