The US this week is regaining international respect and becoming stronger than ever, while the threat of a global nuclear catastrophe has been completely eliminated, states US President Donald Trump during his press conference during the G7 summit in France.
Statement on restoring respect for the US
The American leader stressed that his administration has managed to stop the most serious global threat.
"We stopped nuclear holocaust. There's not going to be any of them. From the beginning to the end, it was clear that this week America's back, it's bigger and better and stronger. We're more respected as a country right now than it ever has been," Trump emphasized.
The US president also pointed to the critical vulnerability of states to nuclear weapons, citing the situation in the Middle East as an example.
"Think of what Israel's getting. They are not going to be nucleared. I told BB, your biggest risk was that they drop a nuclear weapon into the middle of Israel. They only need one and there would be no more Israel," the US leader added.
Trump’s statements on the war in Ukraine
Earlier, on the sidelines of the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin need to meet for direct talks, but at the moment, the leaders of both countries do not know how exactly to organize such a dialogue.
At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron noted that Trump agreed with other European leaders that the Kremlin shows no serious willingness to engage in peace talks. According to the French head of state, despite Ukraine’s and the West’s readiness for diplomacy, Moscow responded with refusal and demands for capitulation.
In addition, after signing a peace agreement with Tehran, the official US administration shifted its main focus to Eastern Europe. Donald Trump officially confirmed that the US is fully focused on Ukraine and on efforts to achieve lasting peace between Kyiv and Russia.
