Trump on his conversation with Putin
According to the US president, he had a "great conversation" with Putin.
"He (Putin — ed.) is wanting to make a deal, and if Zelenskyy is wanting to make a deal, that'd be very nice," Trump said.
When a journalist asked what was preventing a peace deal from being signed, Trump said it was "two people who hate each other."
The US president also said that the leaders of Ukraine and Russia are "tired of fighting."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that CIA Director John Ratcliffe could take on a significantly larger role in US negotiations with Russia and Ukraine.
It was also reported that a trilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping could take place soon.
In addition, Putin’s team said that Trump had promised "impressive and far-reaching prospects" for trade between the US and Russia in exchange for a swift end to the war against Ukraine.
