The United States is holding constructive talks with Iran on a new nuclear agreement. However, the American side is deliberately not rushing to sign the document, as time works in its favor.
Negotiation process details
US President Donald Trump says the current talks with Tehran are proceeding in an orderly manner and are significantly more professional than previous efforts. He said he has already given instructions to his negotiating team.
"I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side. Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes!" Trump stressed.
At the same time, he warned that the current economic blockade against the Islamic Republic will remain in place until a new agreement is fully reached, verified, and signed.
Main US condition
The White House chief reiterated that the Washington stance on Iran's nuclear ambitions remains uncompromising.
According to him, Iranian authorities must clearly understand that they will not be allowed to develop or acquire nuclear weapons or a nuclear bomb.
Trump also criticized the previous nuclear deal under former US President Barack Obama's administration, calling it a "direct path" for Tehran to build a nuclear arsenal.
US-Iran talks
Earlier, Donald Trump stated that a large-scale agreement between Washington and Tehran had already been largely agreed upon. According to him, in addition to the United States and Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain are also involved in efforts to reach the historic compromise.
One of the key elements of the deal is the full opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world's oil and gas supply is traditionally transported.
Trump also said he held successful talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the issue.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during his visit to India, announced that "good news" on the diplomatic front is expected soon, saying that the sides have made significant progress in resolving the crisis around the Strait of Hormuz, although some difficult issues remain on the agenda.
The United States expects to finalize the details and announce the final outcomes in the near future.
