US President Donald Trump stated that the agreement between the US and Iran is "largely agreed upon," and only the finalisation of details remains, according to a statement from Trump.
What is known
According to Trump, the agreement has been reached between the US, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. The final aspects and details are currently being discussed and will be announced in the near future.
The conversation with Netanyahu, according to the president, also went very well.
The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world's oil and gas production previously passed, is one of the key elements of the agreement.
Negotiations between the US and Iran have entered their final stage. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei confirmed that the parties are discussing a memorandum of understanding as the first phase of the agreement — after which a broader nuclear deal will be worked out within 30 to 60 days.
