The meeting between US President Donald Trump, his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place only when a peace agreement is ready, Donald Trump stated this on his social media platform, Truth Social.
"I look forward to hopefully meeting with President Zelenskyy and President Putin soon, but only when the deal to end this war is final or, in its final stages," he emphasized.
The US leader also expressed hope that peace in Ukraine would be achieved as soon as possible.
On Tuesday, November 25, it was reported that US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff will hold talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, Army Secretary Den Driscoll will meet with the Ukrainian side to accelerate the coordination of the peace plan between Ukraine and Russia.
Trump’s peace plan
Recently, Western media published a draft of the American peace plan consisting of 28 points. According to unofficial information, the document included provisions that were seen as concessions to Russia.
Ukraine sent a delegation to Geneva to hold negotiations with US representatives in order to review the most controversial provisions of the document.
After the consultations, Oleksandr Bevz, advisor to the head of the Office of the President, stated that some points from the draft had been removed, while others were adjusted.
On November 24, the Financial Times reported that the US peace plan had been reduced by almost a third. Specifically, the document now contains 19 points instead of the original 28.
On November 25, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the US included both Ukraine and Russia in the peace negotiations.
In addition, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that an agreement to end Russia’s war against Ukraine is close.
