Both Ukrainian and Russian representatives are taking part in peace negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
According to her, the United States "has made tremendous progress" over the past week toward reaching a peace agreement by engaging both Ukraine and Russia in the talks.
She stressed that there are "a few delicate, but not insurmountable, details" that still need to be resolved and will require further negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States.
What is known about Trump's peace plan
Last week, Western media published a draft of the US peace plan consisting of 28 points. According to unofficial information, one of the provisions proposed limiting the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to 600,000 troops. The document also included other elements viewed as concessions to Russia.
Ukraine sent a delegation to Geneva for talks with US representatives aimed at revising the most controversial parts of the document.
Following these consultations, Oleksandr Bevz, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, said that some points had been removed from the draft, while others had been adjusted.
Yesterday, on November 24, the Financial Times reported that the US peace plan had been cut by almost one-third. The document now contains 19 points, down from the original 28.
Meanwhile, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may travel to Washington in November to meet US President Donald Trump to discuss the peace plan.
