The US peace plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine has been significantly reduced following negotiations in Geneva, Financial Times reports.

Unnamed sources told the outlet that the US peace plan now consists of 19 points, down from 28 previously.

Thus, the plan has been reduced by almost one-third.

The FT's interlocutors did not specify which exact points were removed from the peace plan. However, before the negotiations between Ukrainian and US officials in Geneva, European leaders had expressed concerns about certain aspects of the plan, including provisions on sanctions against Moscow and on frozen Russian assets. They emphasized that such issues fall within the EU's competence.

Peace plan

The United States had prepared a 28-point peace plan for Ukraine.

The plan was presented to Ukrainian officials by US Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll during his visit to Kyiv.

Against this backdrop, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine faced a difficult choice — either losing its dignity or risking the loss of a key partner.

Just a few days later, negotiations between Ukrainian and American officials took place in Geneva. The main topic of discussion was the US peace plan.

Following the negotiations, the head of the Presidential Office's adviser, Oleksandr Bevz, said that the original 28-point plan no longer existed.

According to him, some points were removed and others modified.

Zelenskyy is now expected to meet with US President Donald Trump to discuss the peace plan.
