Ukraine strikes Russian plant in Novy Urengoy, 3,300 km from Ukrainian border

Ukraine successfully struck the Novy Urengoy Condensate Preparation Plant. A fire has broken out at the facility, according to the Exilenova+ Telegram channel and a statement from Fire Point.
Attack on the Novy Urengoy plant
At around 2 p.m., a drone alert was declared in Yamal and neighboring Russian regions.
Several hours later, it became known that the Novy Urengoy Condensate Preparation Plant in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug had been attacked.
The Exilenova+ Telegram channel released a video showing a fire at the facility and said the target was at least 2,800 kilometers from Ukraine in a straight line.

Later, OSINT analysts reported that a flare was burning above the plant and clarified that the facility is located 3,200 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
The local governor confirmed a fire broke out at the facility following "falling drone debris," Russian media reported.
Later, Ukrainian manufacturer Fire Point teased on social media: "Guess who traveled over 3,300 km and successfully hit the target?"
The Novy Urengoy Condensate Preparation Plant is an oil and gas industry facility located in Russia’s Tyumen region.
It is one of the key gas condensate infrastructure facilities in the region.
The plant has a designed processing capacity of about 19.5 million tonnes of raw materials per year.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that drones attacked the Saratov oil refinery in Russia overnight on September 8. Local residents reported explosions and a fire.
