Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia today, February 20. Infrastructure was damaged, and smoke rose above the city, according to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

"The smoke rising above Zaporizhzhia is the result of a Russian attack on the infrastructure of the city," Fedorov says.

According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, there is currently no information about casualties from the Russian strike, and all emergency services are working at the site of the strike.

Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia and region

Russian troops have recently intensified their strikes on Zaporizhzhia and the region using guided aerial bombs, missiles, and various types of drones.

On the evening of Tuesday, February 17, the Russian army launched a drone strike on Zaporizhzhia. The drone strike damaged windows and facades of residential buildings in the city. Initially, one woman was reported injured, but it later became known that she had died from her injuries.

On the night of February 15, Russian struck Zaporizhzhia with drones. A Shahed drone struck a private house, causing significant damage and starting a fire. Three people were also injured: a 75-year-old man and two women aged 73 and 55.

During one of the recent Russian drone attacks on Zaporizhzhia, a large-scale fire broke out, and the city was partially left without power.

In addition, on the morning of January 28, the Russian army struck Zaporizhzhia, injuring two people—an 88-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man—who required medical attention. As a result of the fire that broke out at the site of the strike, over 100 apartments and 20 cars were damaged.
