The Russian army carried out a drone strike on Zaporizhzhia on Tuesday evening, February 17. Residential buildings were damaged, and one fatality was reported, according to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram.
According to preliminary data, as a result of a drone strike involving a Shahed-type UAV, windows and facades of residential buildings in the city were damaged. Initially, it was reported that one woman had been injured, but it was later confirmed that she died from her injuries.
In addition, residents of the Zaporizhzhia region were warned about the threat of further attacks, including possible ballistic missile strikes. Citizens are urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to remain in shelters until the all-clear is given.

Attacks on Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia remains one of the regions most frequently targeted by enemy attacks with severe consequences. Drones, missiles, and at times guided aerial bombs have struck infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, cars, gas stations, businesses, and, most importantly, civilians.
It was previously reported that during one of the recent drone attacks in Zaporizhzhia, a large-scale fire broke out, and parts of the city were partially left without electricity. In another shelling, the blast wave damaged a kindergarten building and nearby high-rise residential buildings. Children are often among the victims — in particular, a one-year-old boy was recently injured during a drone attack.
