Russia targets the facilities of Ukraine's state gas company Naftogaz in the Poltava region with drone strikes for the second day in a row as of March 8.

The company reported that the strikes halted operations at several critical infrastructure sites and caused damage and losses, though fortunately, no casualties were reported.

"Company specialists, together with units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, are working to eliminate the consequences of the attacks. Damage assessment is ongoing," said Sergii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Repeated attacks on Naftogaz

The recent attacks in early March are not the first on Naftogaz facilities. On the night of February 20, Russian drones also struck oil and gas infrastructure in the Poltava region, causing a fire at one site.

Previously, during early hours on January 27, Russian forces attacked a Naftogaz critical infrastructure facility in the Lviv region, triggering a fire and forcing the immediate shutdown of technological processes.

The January 27 attack marked the 15th strike on Naftogaz facilities since the start of 2026.
