Russia heavily strikes residential buildings in Ukraine's Dnipro, causing fires and casualties

On the night of May 17–18, Russia launched a combined attack on the residential neighborhood in Dnipro, causing fires and casualties.

What Russians attacked with
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russians began launching drones toward Dnipro around 8 p.m. Kyiv time on May 17. Subsequently, entire groups of drones flew toward the city, and this continued into the night of the 18th.
However, at 2:32 a.m., Ukraine faced the threat of ballistic missile strikes. Ukrainian military subsequently detected missiles and cruise missiles heading toward Dnipro.
As of 3:50 a.m., Russia continued to periodically attack Dnipro, with explosions heard in the city.
Initial consequences of Russian strikes
Following a massive drone attack, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that the roof of a high-rise building and a warehouse storing pyrotechnic products were on fire in the city. No casualties were reported at the time.
However, following the Russian strikes, Hanzha wrote that, according to preliminary reports, Russia had hit a residential neighborhood, causing several fires, and people were trapped in one of the buildings.
At 03:41 a.m., Oleksandr Hanzha reported that three people had been injured.
"One man has been hospitalized in moderate condition. A 50-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man are receiving outpatient treatment," the report states.
Subsequently, the number of casualties rose to 9. Among them is a 10-year-old boy.
At 7:10 a.m., the number of victims in Dnipro rose to 18. Among them are a 2-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. They are currently receiving outpatient treatment.
"Eight people have been hospitalized. They include four women and four men. Medical personnel assess their condition as moderate. All the victims are receiving the necessary care," Oleksandr Hanzha reported.
Other Russian strikes on Dnipro
Russia attacks Dnipro almost every day. In particular, on the night of May 17, Russian drones flew over the city, causing fires and damaging homes and a business.
In addition, on the night of April 25, the Russians carried out an attack on Dnipro that lasted over 20 hours. That day, the Russians deliberately targeted residential neighborhoods with drones and missiles.
