14 hours of air sirens: Emergency service reveals aftermath of Russian attack on Kyiv region

After the first overnight strike, the Kyiv region came under another 28 enemy attacks. Rescuers are still working to extinguish large-scale fires while facing the threat of new strikes, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
According to rescuers, air raid alerts sounded 11 times in the region starting overnight. In total, they lasted more than 14 hours.
"For our rescuers, dealing with the aftermath of Russian attacks has become a test at the limits of human capabilities. Firefighters are working under constant deadly risk: time and again, they are forced to interrupt firefighting efforts due to the threat of repeat strikes and retreat to a safe distance," the statement said.
At the same time, the State Emergency Service emphasized that despite the constant threat of targeted attacks and 13 repeat strikes, rescuers return to work.

Firefighters are currently battling fires at warehouse buildings at three separate locations that were set ablaze by repeated Russian strikes.
Overnight, Russian forces launched a massive attack on logistics infrastructure in the Kyiv region. The strikes damaged or destroyed distribution centers belonging to the Fora, Budynok Igrashok and Comfy retail chains.
In addition, around noon, a Russian drone attacked a hypermarket in Kharkiv’s Osnovianskyi district. One person was killed, and five others were injured in the strike.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that, starting at 7:00 a.m., Russia launched around 140 attack drones at Ukraine. More than 100 of them were jet-powered.
