Russia strikes Kyiv and Kharkiv: Casualties reported, Epicentr hit in daytime attack

Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities with drones and artillery during the day on August 27. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Nikopol, and Kherson came under attack.

Kyiv
As a result of the Russian attack, a car caught fire in the Holosiivskyi district at around 10:10 a.m. The fire was extinguished. One man was injured.
In the Pecherskyi district, a sports complex building was damaged.
Social media reports said a drone directly struck the area near Dynamo Stadium. Kyiv residents posted footage of smoke rising above the sports complex. Later, information emerged that the stadium itself was not damaged.

Around noon, Russia attacked Kyiv with drones for the second time. Explosions were heard again in the capital, and air defense was operating.
In the Pecherskyi district, enemy drone debris fell in a forested park area, causing grass and trees to catch fire. Rescuers extinguished the fire.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris fell near another school, damaging the building's windows.
In the Obolonskyi district, debris fell in a residential area, a park, and a parking lot, as well as on the grounds of a garage cooperative. There were no fires or casualties.
In the Podilskyi district, debris fell on the grounds of a kindergarten and near a non-residential building.
As of 3:30 p.m., four people were known to have been injured in Kyiv.
Kharkiv
This afternoon, Russian forces attacked the Epicentr shopping center in Kharkiv's Osnovianskyi district.
According to preliminary data, the Russian army used a Geran-4 Seeker-type drone.
As a result of the attack, a man was killed. Three women and two men were injured.
The building was damaged. There was partial destruction of structures and a fire covering an area of 300 square meters.

Nikopol
The Russians shelled central Nikopol with artillery. As a result of the shelling, educational institutions, stores, cafes, banks, and cars were damaged.
Of the five injured people, three are in the hospital, two of them in serious condition. Two other people received medical assistance at the scene.

Kherson
Russian forces attacked the Kherson combined heat and power plant of Naftogaz Group.
The station was hit by four guided aerial bombs (KABs) at once.
The CHP plant suffered critical damage. As a result of the strike, all remaining heat-generating and power-generating equipment at the station was completely destroyed and rendered inoperable.
