Russian strike on Kharkiv’s Epicentr hypermarket: What it looks like now

A Russian drone struck a hypermarket in Kharkiv’s Osnovianskyi district around noon on August 27. One person was killed and five others were injured, while the building was partially destroyed, according to Suspilne Kharkiv, Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov, and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

So far, it is known that a 40-year-old man was killed, while five other people were injured or suffered acute stress reactions.
The fire at the strike site has been extinguished. Video captured what happened at the scene after the strike.

Part of the shopping center has been damaged.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov described the attack as another blatant act of terror by Russia against a civilian facility.
"Unfortunately, a man approximately 40 years old was killed in this enemy attack. The details are still being clarified," he said.
A 25-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were injured. Meanwhile, women aged 26 and 58, as well as a 38-year-old man, suffered acute stress reactions. They are receiving the necessary medical assistance.

The efforts to deal with the aftermath of the strike continue.
The strike caused partial structural damage and a 300-square-meter fire.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

- State Emergency Service units
- National Police officers
- medical teams
- volunteers
- municipal services
Emergency Service psychologists also provided assistance to those affected.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the enemy had struck a shopping center in Kharkiv, leaving people injured.
It was also reported that Russia may be preparing to carry out targeted strikes against major retail chains in Ukraine.
