At 12:16 p.m. Kyiv time, the mayor confirmed that Russians had struck the Osnovianskyi district with a combat drone.

"We are working to determine the details," he wrote.

Just a minute later, Terekhov reported that Russia had targeted a shopping center in the district.

"We are receiving reports of casualties resulting from the strike on the shopping center. Their number and condition are being verified," the mayor of Kharkiv said at 12:26 p.m.

At 12:42 p.m., Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported one fatality—a 40-year-old man.

According to him, two other civilians were injured.

"All of our emergency services are working at the scene," Syniehubov emphasized.

At 1 p.m., the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that State Emergency Service of Ukraine units were dealing with the aftermath of the Russian strike.

In addition, the evacuation of people is ongoing.

"All services are operating on high alert," Syniehubov emphasized.

At 1:09 p.m., the number of casualties from the Russian attack on Kharkiv rose to 4 people.

"Medical personnel are providing all necessary assistance," Syniehubov added.

According to him, efforts to address the aftermath of the Russian attack are ongoing.

Russia is preparing to launch targeted strikes against large retail chains in Ukraine. Shoppers will have only one or two minutes to evacuate after an alarm sounds.
