Over the past day, Russian troops carried out new strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities in the frontline and border communities of Ukraine. However, no targeted massive strikes with missiles and kamikaze drones on energy infrastructure were recorded, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"As on previous days, the Russian army remains focused on terror against our logistics – primarily railway infrastructure. In particular, there were strikes in the Dnipro region and in Zaporizhzhia, specifically targeting railway facilities," Zelenskyy says.

According to him, during today's meeting, instructions were given to the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and the head of the Ukrainian Railways.

"I expect these tasks to be carried out today," the President writes.

Energy truce

On January 29, US President Donald Trump said that he personally appealed to Vladimir Putin to stop striking Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for a week. According to Trump, the Kremlin leader agreed to this proposal.

Later, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed Russia's readiness for an energy truce, but noted that it would only last until February 1.

At the same time, analysts emphasized that a temporary moratorium on strikes against Ukraine could be beneficial to the Kremlin for stockpiling missiles and drones.

On February 1, Russian troops attacked a service bus carrying miners in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. The strike killed 12 people and injured the same number.

Russian strikes on Ukrainian railway

Ukrainian Railways temporarily restricted train traffic on the Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia route. This decision was made due to Russian attacks on railway infrastructure and the detection of Russian drones near the routes.

Over the past few days, Russian drones have carried out at least seven strikes on railway facilities in Ukraine.

Russia has been attacking civilian railway infrastructure in Konotop for the second day in a row. As a result of the Russian drone strikes, tracks, station territory, a repair shop, and an administrative building of the locomotive depot were damaged, and fires broke out.
