US leader Donald Trump stated that he asked Russian President Vladimir Putin not to strike Kyiv for a week.
"I personally asked President Putin not to fire into Kyiv and the various towns for a week," said the US president.
According to him, the Russian leader agreed to do so.
Energy truce between Ukraine and Russia
On January 29, Russian online outlets circulated information claiming that the aggressor country had allegedly been prohibited from striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Later, reports emerged that the same restriction might apply to strikes on Russian territory.
Konstiantyn Nemichev, founder of the Kraken unit, wrote that it seems the energy truce is being observed by both sides.
At the same time, Ukrainian Telegram channels noted that a final decision on halting strikes on energy infrastructure between the countries has not yet been made and urged all Ukrainians to remain vigilant.
The outlet noted that the proposal would involve Moscow stopping attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, while Kyiv would halt strikes on Russian refineries and shadow fleet tankers.
