Russian forces have adopted a new tactic, targeting Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. They are now striking facilities that were previously considered "untouchable" because of their vital role in sustaining civilian life, reports Bild.

Julian Röpcke, a military analyst for Bild, noted that Russia's new tactic involves deliberate attacks on facilities that until now held "untouchable" status, as they are essential for the survival of millions of civilians.

During the missile strike from December 5 to 6, the enemy launched hundreds of missiles and drones across Ukraine. One of their main targets was the railway hub in Fastiv, Kyiv region, whereas previously Russian attacks on rail infrastructure had been limited to eastern Ukraine.

War on parcels and medicine

Another target was postal services. In Dnipro, Russia struck the sorting center of Nova Poshta, Ukraine’s largest private postal company. Residents reported that tens of thousands of parcels were destroyed, including dozens of shipments intended for Ukrainian troops.

Russian forces are also actively targeting Ukraine's medical logistics. Attacks on medicine warehouses continue. In Lviv, a supply base was destroyed, leaving more than 600 medical institutions without essential medicines.

Russia continues to target Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Multiple attacks across several regions have left residents without electricity for 12 to 16 hours a day, according to NPC Ukrenergo, as cited by Bild. These strikes mark a significant escalation in Russia's tactics.

In Dnipro, the December 5-6 attack also destroyed a warehouse of the Med-Service pharmacy network, which stored medicines for millions of people across Ukraine. This is not the first Russian strike on medical warehouses, signaling a pattern of deliberate terrorism.

The city of Fastiv in the Kyiv region was heavily hit during the same night, with its railway station completely destroyed. Regarding the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian regime has "sunk so low."

Russian forces launched 61 missiles and 653 drones in these attacks. Ukraine's air defense managed to shoot down 615 enemy targets. Nevertheless, many energy facilities were damaged, and Ukrainian nuclear power plants temporarily reduced electricity generation.
