Russian drone attack sets 16-story building ablaze in Kyiv

A high-rise building is on fire in Kyiv following a morning Russian drone attack, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
A Russian drone struck a 16-story building.
"In the Podilskyi district, a fire has broken out in a 16-story building on the 14th and 15th floors. Emergency services are heading to the scene," he says.
There is no information yet on any casualties.

According to the mayor of Kyiv, three people were injured as a result of the attack.
“In total, there have been 8 casualties in Kyiv since the start of the day. Eight people have been killed,” the statement reads.

The State Emergency Service released photos of the damaged high-rise building. The fire has already been extinguished.
“Enemy attack caused damage and destruction to a 16-story residential building from the 13th to the 16th floors, as well as a fire on the 14th floor that spread to the 15th. Firefighters have extinguished the fire,” rescue workers said.
Since last night, the Russians have been attacking Kyiv and the surrounding region with drones and missiles.
Various districts of the Kyiv region, as well as the capital itself, were under Russian attack. 8 people were killed in Kyiv overnight. Among them were 6 employees of Ukrainian Railways who were at the depot.
There were also fatalities in the Kyiv region, where Russia attacked infrastructure.
Russia also struck Odesa and the surrounding region overnight, targeting the energy sector. At the same time, Russia attacked the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and other regions of Ukraine.
