Response efforts continue at the site of the strike.
The chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, has already arrived in Fastiv to assess the damage to the station after the Russian attack.
Strike on the station in Fastiv
On the night of December 6, Russia carried out another massive strike on Ukrainian communities, railway and port infrastructure, as well as critical energy facilities. As a result of the attacks, there are casualties and damage to civilian sites.
In particular, the Fastiv, Vyshhorod, and Bucha districts of the Kyiv region came under the massive strike.
In Fastiv, the railway hub station, the station building and the suburban depot servicing electric trains, as well as rolling stock, were damaged.
Because of this, suburban train service is complicated: Ukrzaliznytsia has changed routes and organized alternative bus transport for passengers. Traffic is restricted at the Motovylivka, Kozhanka, and Fastiv-2 stations, while shuttle service Kyiv–Motovylivka is maintaining connections for residents.
Due to Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine, 59 trains on various routes are delayed. Delays reach up to 6 hours.
