Prince Harry, during an unannounced visit to Kyiv, addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling to stop the war against Ukraine, The Guardian reports.

Speaking directly to Putin, Prince Harry stressed that no one benefits from the continued human losses in the war.

"President Putin, no nation benefits from the continued loss of life we are witnessing. There is still a moment – now – to stop this war, to prevent further suffering for Ukrainians and Russians alike, and to choose a different course," he said.

According to him, as the conflict drags on for years, with heavy casualties and limited gains, it becomes increasingly clear that this path does not lead to victory, only to more losses.

A soldier and a friend of Ukraine

"I am not here as a politician. I am here as a soldier who understands service, as a humanitarian who has seen the human cost of conflict, and as a friend of Ukraine who believes the world must not grow used to this war or numb to its consequences," Prince Harry said.

He also said that the war in Ukraine is not just a fight over territory, but a war for values and sovereignty.

Today, April 23, Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. He aimed to remind people around the world what Ukrainians are facing and to support those "doing extraordinary work every hour of every day in incredibly tough conditions."

Prince Harry’s visits to Ukraine

Since the start of the full-scale war, Prince Harry has visited Ukraine twice. He first drew attention with an unannounced appearance in Lviv in April 2025, where he visited a clinic providing care to wounded soldiers.

Later, on September 12 of the same year, the Duke of Sussex arrived in Kyiv, where he visited the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, met with veterans, visited a residential building destroyed by a Russian attack, and honored the memory of fallen soldiers at the memorial on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square).
