Russia unleashes massive ballistic and drone attack on Kyiv

Overnight into Tuesday, September 1, Russian forces attacked with ballistic missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force and Kyiv City Military Administration.
The Air Force warned of a high-speed target heading toward Kyiv, and shortly afterward reported several targets moving toward the capital. Later, another high-speed target was detected near Voronkiv outside Kyiv, as well as a missile in the southern Kyiv region heading toward the city.
Following these warnings, a series of explosions was heard in Kyiv. At the same time, Kalibr cruise missiles are moving northward from the Black Sea waters.
The Air Force has reported attack drones heading toward Kyiv from the east.
Additionally, the threat of ballistic weapons and other means of strike remains for Kyiv and the surrounding region. The Air Force has urged residents to remain in shelters until the all-clear is announced.
The Air Force issued another warning regarding high-speed targets moving toward the capital. Shortly after, the military clarified that the missiles were heading toward the surrounding region.

The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reported the first impacts of the Russian attack, noting a fire in a non-residential area of Kyiv's Dnipro district. Residents were urged to remain in shelters until the all-clear is announced.
Attacks on Kyiv with attack drones have become regular in recent days. "Flash" has revealed a possible reason why Shahed drones are flying to the capital along a single route near the Belarusian border - the enemy is likely using the network of Belarusian mobile operators for navigation.
Russia has launched another strike on Kyiv - fires broke out in several districts of the city, with warehouses, a residential building, and green areas burning. And the day before, when explosions were heard in Kyiv, a drone fell on the territory between residential buildings in the Obolon district, where a high-rise building caught fire.
RBC-Ukraine has also written about the enemy's tactics: according to the Center for Countering Disinformation, Russia is launching attack drones at Kyiv in waves, trying to exhaust air defense systems and paralyze life in the capital with constant alerts. Over the past weeks, the number of such drones has increased sharply - Russia is launching Shahed drones practically straight off the production line, even without prolonged storage in warehouses.
