Prince Harry has made an unannounced visit to Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian Armed Forces veterans and civilians affected by Russia’s military aggression, reports The Telegraph.

The Duke of Sussex, accompanied by four fellow veterans, visited the Superhumans Center in Lviv. This medical facility provides free care to wounded soldiers and offers prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and psychological support.

According to the British newspaper, details of the prince’s visit were kept confidential until he had left the country.

As The Telegraph reports, a photo from the visit to Lviv shows the Duke of Sussex wearing a jacket bearing the name of his Invictus Games foundation, speaking with wounded Ukrainian veterans.

Later, Prince Harry posed with a group of amputees at the rehabilitation center and met with Ukraine’s Minister for Veterans Affairs, Nataliia Kalmykova.

Harry is the second member of the royal family to visit Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war

The British Duke, who served in the UK military for ten years, is the second member of the royal family to visit Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Last year, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, visited the Ukrainian capital.

In March, Prince William also met with Ukrainian refugees during a two-day visit to Estonia.

British royal family supports Ukraine

Members of the UK’s royal family have repeatedly spoken out in condemnation of Russia’s full-scale military aggression against Ukraine.

In February 2022, Prince William and Kate Middleton broke with the royal tradition of neutrality to publicly express their support for Ukraine. Before that, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle - who had stepped back from royal duties - also voiced their solidarity with Ukrainians.

In February, Prince Harry personally greeted the Ukrainian team at the launch of the Invictus Games 2025, held in Vancouver, Canada.

In August 2022, the Duke of Sussex phoned Ukrainian volunteer and paramedic Yuliia Paievska - known by her call sign “Taira” - following her release from Russian captivity.

Additionally, on March 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with King Charles III during an official visit to the UK.
