Previously, Steve Witkoff stated that on January 22, he was scheduled to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, noting that the meeting was initiated by the Russian side.
Witkoff has visited Moscow multiple times and met with Putin before. Despite statements from Washington representatives claiming that Russia is supposedly ready for peace, there are no signs of this.
On January 21, Putin shared details of the upcoming meeting with the US presidential special representatives, Witkoff and Kushner. According to him, they are flying to the Russian capital to continue dialogue on resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Witkoff refused to condemn Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, which left much of Kyiv without water, heating, and electricity during the severe cold.
He stated that Ukraine and Russia are at war and "shooting at each other."
Additionally, Witkoff said he plans to visit Kyiv soon, without providing details about the purpose or agenda of the upcoming trip.
